The Venus Engine for the DMC-GF3 enhances its performance with an adoption of new noise reduction technology for even higher quality of image. This advanced noise reduction system realized S/N improvement by approx. 3dB at ISO3200 / ISO6400 setting respectively and improved the color reproduction in high sensitivity recording. Furthermore, optimization of the parameter contributes to the increase of resolution. 1: Advanced CNR (Chromatic Noise Reduction) at the Edges: By preventing the color mixture which tended to occur around the edges, any chromatic noise, not only in the gradation part but also in the edge part, is described clearly. 2: Noise Suppression at the Edges: The engine also provides selective noise reduction to the outline part to let it have more naturally-balanced curve without deterioration of the resolution in the detailed area such as human hair.
