Geet Gunjan had its humble beginnings in 1979 with the late Praful C Mehta and partners - Hemant Mehta and Jayesh Mehta setting up an electronics shop in Santa Cruz. What started as a dinky store selling radios, tape recorders, audio cassettes expanded into a house of music systems, home theatres and so on?

As time passed business expanded in the form of three stores with brands such as BPL, Videocon and Sharp. Trusted brands in the store today are LG, Samsung and Whirlpool, Videocon and Godrej in appliances. In CTVs, Videocon, LG, Samsung, Onida, Sharp rule the roost as much as in refrigerators, air conditioners, microwaves and washing machines.

The store spans an area of 300 sq. ft; it is strategically located and sees a decent customer footfall daily.

Services are special, says proprietor Sagar Mehta. There is a separate showroom for audio systems - where home theatre systems - 5.1 channel, 2.1 channel, all kind of DVD players are showcased and tested for demo.

Good services, discounts during festivals are part of special offerings at the store. There are finance schemes available for purchase of electronics goods. For audio systems, they have their specialised service centre whereas for other products, a tieup with repair and maintenance establishments takes care of customer requirements.
